LifeSecure Insurance Company Joins ‘Walk for Warmth’ to Help Local Families Stay Warm this Winter

2/23/2016

On Saturday, Feb. 20, representatives from LifeSecure Insurance Company joined Oakland Livingston Human Services Agency (OLHSA) at the Walk for Warmth to help raise funds for the Emergency Utility Assistance program, which benefits persons in Livingston County facing heating emergencies. By supporting the event, LifeSecure and its employees are continuing their commitment to giving back and strengthening the community, which are an important part of the company’s core values.

“OLHSA always puts on a wonderful event with the Walk for Warmth and its programs are critical to helping local families,” said Tiffany Albert, LifeSecure President and CEO. “LifeSecure is proud to have joined so many of our neighbors in supporting another successful Walk for Warmth.”

As a “Heart of Silver” event sponsor, as well as through its employee fundraising drive, LifeSecure contributed $4,000 to this year’s Walk for Warmth. The company held an internal “Kiss the Pig” contest to help drive its fundraising efforts, have a little fun for a good cause, and get its employees in the Walk for Warmth spirit. For the contest, two teams squared off to see who could raise the most funds; the captain of the losing team had to pucker up for Wilfred, the pet pig of a LifeSecure employee.

The Walk for Warmth supports a wide range of Livingston County residents, including seniors, low-income families and those with disabilities. They access the Emergency Utility Assistance program, which is funded by contributions from Walk for Warmth, when faced with a utility shut-off notice. Every dollar raised by the Walk for Warmth goes directly to helping local residents stay warm during Michigan’s harsh winter months.
