System Administrator II

The Systems Administrator II serves as subject matter expert on projects, complex systems processes and procedures and is responsible for overseeing and supporting the IT infrastructure functions and equipment, including IT data centers and Information security; disaster recovery and business continuity; server OS operations; and network and middleware engineering/operations. This position is also responsible for the implementation and support of new and existing technologies, including network infrastructure and multi-platform systems administration; project management oversight; and execution and delivery of multiple projects within defined timeframes and budget. This role also serves as an escalation point for day-to-day technical support.

Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Service Delivery

  • Support day-to-day administration of the data center infrastructures
  • Identifies requirements and makes recommendations for infrastructure expansion based on current and projected activities
  • Participates in incident management, problem management and change management processes
  • Provides problem resolution for infrastructure issues
  • Monitor performance and security of the infrastructure
  • Manages business continuity processes and recovery of company's information systems
  • Manages Disaster Recovery activities
  • Maintains software license compliance
  • Manages the Enterprise Agreement with Microsoft
  • Tracks assigned inventory, warranties, and asset use

Security Management

  • Performs information security risk assessments and serves as an internal auditor for security issues
  • Implements information security policies and procedures for the organization
  • Manage security alerts and logs including IDS, IPS, Azure Sentinel, Azure monitor and others
  • Manage compliance related programs including HIPAA compliance and PCI DSS compliance
  • Support and participate in HITRUST adoption and assessment activities

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or equivalent preferred
  • 6+ years of IT experience, with 5+ years security related
  • Working experience with firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems
  • CISSP strongly preferred
  • HIPAA and PCI DSS Compliance experience
  • Technical background that includes Security work on Windows products
